William Storr-Barber

Delighted to meet with Dr Paul Norgate yesterday to discuss our WWI commemoration day.  Dr Norgate is an author, historian, specialist on Wilfred Owen and the Soldier Poets and is going to share with us his research on the sculptures of William Storr-Barber.  Storr-Barber, from Leominster, sculpted many WWI soldier memorials and dedicated his work to the ordinary soldier.  This will be an afternoon of organ music played by Igor Kennaway, readings from the soldier poets, a display of WWI memorabilia and of course, Dr Norgate's talk.

Saturday 29th July at 2.00pm in the church - this is a fund raiser and tickets will be £7.50 including tea and a bun!  Please spread the word and please do come along.

Wigmore Centre – Living History

The Wigmore Centre CIC has been supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to commence the development phase of the transformation of St James’ Church into an Interpretive, Heritage and Community Centre.
